LGBTQ+ Resources

Have you ever been in a situation where you needed help, but were unsure who to go to? Have you ever been in a position where you were unsure if the help you were shown would be genuine? These are some of the questions we, and many, have asked ourselves as we navigated what we wanted this platform, Affirming Quakers, to be. One of the things that we decided is having LGBTQ+ friendly resources to be made known and available for those who are a part of the community. As we began to research, we found that there are so many different helpful resources out there, but no one place that kind of links them all together. We made it our mission to do that and act as the glue that brings them together.

As a team, we want to make sure we use our platform to connect you to LGBTQ+ resources that do not give quality services, but support, respect, and empower you as well. LGBTQ+ friendly resources are our main focus and priority. We want to put in the work in finding the best resources to help you stress less in finding these vendors, but allow you to get the service you are desiring and deserving of. These services will range from a photographer to capture your special day to a counselor who is there to listen when you need it.

Many times, we find ourselves in situations where the help we think we are getting doesn't have the best intentions for us. Therefore, we want to do the research to make sure every vendor we share at Affirming Quakers are vendors that share the same beliefs as us. Beliefs that love those persons in the LGBTQ+ community, support those in the LGBTQ+ community, and give their absolute best to those in the LGBTQ+ community.

We not only want to have resources for those in the LGBTQ+ community, but allies as well. Allies are a vital and important piece to many queer stories. We want to make sure there are resources for those who want to be an ally, but are unsure where to begin. But we also have resources for allies that are already supporting, but want extra guidance on things they can do better. We all have room to grow and get the information we need to be better to each other.

We hope that as time goes on and this family continues to grow, we can continue to highlight and add services to this list of resources so they are made known to you. The only thing we ask is that you take what you need and share with others who may need it. We love you. We see you. We are with you.
