Affirming Quakers has been a dream of ours for a while. We knew we needed to start an organization to help Queer Quakers and their allies navigate the good and bad life brings. In December of 2022, Cindy shared with the team that she had purchased the domain name Affirming Quakers.com.
We still weren’t sure exactly what Affirming Quakers would look like. Fast forward a few months and the team met in Texas for a planning weekend. We came away from that weekend with a solid plan in place with several goals in mind including starting an Instagram page, building a website, and producing a podcast. As time went on, we could successfully cross the first two off the list, but the podcast seemed daunting. How are we supposed to keep up with Getting Curious with Jonathan van Ness or New Heights with the Kelce Brothers?
We knew we wanted to expand on our current platform while also being able to venture into another platform – YouTube!
We are excited to announce you will soon be able to find Affirming Quakers content on YouTube as well as on Instagram in shorter form. The team will be filming these videos soon to upload for your viewing enjoyment! Our first three topics are Stories of Allyship, Visibility vs. Safety, and Our Connections: How the Affirming Quakers Know Each Other.
As always, you can find our content under the name Affirming Quakers. This is a new venture for us, but we have worked hard to get this project off the ground and are excited for the opportunity to show you more of our personalities through the screen!
